SABIC has announced the retirement of its Chief Executive Officer and Executive Member of the Board, Abdulrahman Al-Fageeh, effective 1 April 2026.
Al-Fageeh was appointed CEO and Executive Member of the Board in March 2023, having previously served as acting CEO since September 2022. He brings more than 35 years of experience in the chemical industry, during which he held several leadership roles across SABIC’s petrochemicals, polymers and performance chemicals businesses.
Throughout his career, Al-Fageeh has contributed to advancing SABIC’s global presence and strengthening its position as one of the world’s leading chemical producers. In addition to his responsibilities at SABIC, he has played an active role in supporting industry collaboration and development across the Arabian Gulf.
Succeeding him, Dr. Faisal Al-Faqeer has been appointed Chief Executive Officer effective 1 April 2026. Al-Faqeer currently serves as Senior Vice President of Liquids-to-Chemicals development at Saudi Aramco and previously held the position of Chief Executive Officer of Sadara Chemical Company.
