Sayed Mahmood Alawi Al Matooq is the Technical Services Manager at Bapco Refining.
He is responsible for leading process engineering services for the main refinery in Bahrain at a capacity of over 260,000 barrels per day.
Part of his responsibilities are the development of process profitability plans, revamp strategies, expansion and unit optimization. Mahmood also leads the quality control LAB section in the refinery which serves not only the refinery operation but extends to support key fuels users & operators in Bahrain.
Mahmood has over 20 years of refinery and petrochemical experience covering plant operations, licensing & engineering, pre-commissioning and startups. He holds a BSc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Bahrain and is a member of PMI, AICHE and ICheme.
