Dr. Mike Bainbridge is the Director of R&D for Core Technologies at Johnson Matthey’s Catalyst Technologies business. With over 20 years of experience at the company, he oversees the implementation of R&D strategy and the development of innovative process technologies and catalyst solutions for global customers in the syngas and derivatives markets.
Dr. Mike has extensive expertise across a broad technology portfolio, including homo- and heterogeneous catalysts, and has held roles in R&D operations, intellectual property, technology transfer and partnerships. In his current leadership role, he is responsible for shaping the R&D portfolio and investment strategy to support Johnson Matthey’s efforts in addressing customer needs for decarbonization and exploring opportunities created by the energy transition.
His leadership and strategic vision continue to drive innovation and sustainable advancements in catalyst technologies, enabling Johnson Matthey to remain at the forefront of evolving market demands.
