Eng. Mater Aldhafeeri is the Secretary General of the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA), having assumed the role in January 2026. He brings nearly three decades of leadership experience across the petrochemicals and industrial sectors.

Throughout his career, Eng. Aldhafeeri has held senior executive roles spanning operations, strategy, commercial leadership, and business transformation. He has led major commissioning and start-up projects, overseen complex manufacturing and value-chain operations, and served on multiple boards and investment committees within regional and international joint ventures.

Eng. Aldhafeeri holds a Master’s degree in Natural Gas Engineering and Management from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tulsa. He has also completed executive development programs at Harvard Business School and the Kellogg School of Management.

As Secretary General, Eng. Aldhafeeri is focused on strengthening GPCA’s role as the unified voice of the chemical and petrochemical industry in the Gulf, advancing collaboration among members, and supporting the industry’s long-term competitiveness, sustainability, and growth.
