Dr. Thorsten Loehl is the VP Science & Engineering at Borouge International, previously Borealis, leading 400+ scientists and engineers across four sites, delivering innovation and scientific business support. Previously he was VP Innovation and member of management team at Borouge, Abu Dhabi (UAE), and EVP Research, Design & Innovation at Swarovski, with earlier leadership roles at Henkel/Cognis. He has a PhD in Chemistry and an MBA. He is honorarily supporting for more than a decade the Science4Life Venture Cup, the renowned startup competition program, and he is a member of the supervisory board at ARA AG (Vienna). He is based in Linz/Austria.
