During his time in Bain and QVARTZ, Gaute has served several ag clients, primarily focused on fertilizers and the upstream agri value chain. Gaute&#8217;s major case work included heading a commercial excellence program for a global fertilizers player, as well as advising on several strategy and operating model exercises for process industry clients. Gaute has also advised private equity firms in their acquisition processes of fertilizer and biostimulant companies. Furthermore, Gaute has developed a spike in low carbon ammonia and has<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining QVARTZ\/Bain in 2016, Gaute served as the Head of Strategy and BD for Yara International, led the ammonia trading unit of Yara and then became EVP of Strategy and Overseas Operations for pulp and paper company Norske Skog.
