Danie van der Merwe

Danie van der Merwe serves as the General Manager of Kynoch Fertilizer, one of South Africa’s leading providers of innovative plant nutrition solutions. With more than two decades of experience in the agricultural sector covering markets in Europe and Africa, he has built an extensive career across business development, commercial and leadership roles. His early work focused on on-farm support and projects, where he gained first-hand exposure to the challenges and opportunities faced by growers. He later advanced into market development and commercial strategy, spearheading several initiatives that brought tailored solutions too to small-, medium-, and large-scale farmers across various markets. These projects not only improved crop productivity but also contributed to the adoption of more sustainable farming practices in diverse environments.

Mr. van der Merwe holds a BCom in Commercial Marketing, as well as supporting studies in Logistics and Transport Economics. At Kynoch, he is responsible for steering the company’s strategy, overseeing business optimization, and ensuring sustainable growth in targeted market segments. His leadership approach emphasizes efficiency, innovation, and adaptability in response to the rapidly changing agricultural landscape.
