The Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA), the voice of the chemical industry in the Arabian Gulf, convened its 2026 Annual General Meeting on 12 February in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia at the Sipchem Research and Innovation Center (Manar), setting its strategic priorities for 2026 and beyond.
The AGM took place under the leadership of the GPCA Board of Directors and was officially opened by the GPCA Chairman, Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Fageeh, who highlighted the importance of the GCC chemical industry in the global economy and highlighted GPCA’s progress and achievements in 2025.
The Assembly marked the first AGM with Eng. Mater Aldhafeeri as Secretary General of GPCA and provided an opportunity to reflect on a year of strategic progress and institutional growth. In 2025, GPCA expanded its membership base, welcomed new companies to the Association, and further strengthened its role as the unified voice of the GCC chemical industry.
The meeting served as an important forum for strategic alignment, as the board discussed the Association’s priorities for the year across its three strategic pillars Networking, Thought Leadership, and Advocacy.

The event provided participants with an opportunity to review the past year’s performance and collectively look ahead to 2026 – a period expected to bring continued transformation and new opportunities for the region’s chemical and petrochemical sector.
During the Assembly, GPCA highlighted the release of its 2025 Annual Report, which captures the Association’s milestones, policy impact, sustainability progress, and industry leadership.
As GPCA approaches its 20th anniversary, the Association remains firmly committed to working for its members, through its members, strengthening competitiveness, advancing sustainability, and reinforcing GPCA’s position as the premier platform for the regional chemical industry.
