GPCA is set to host the 9th edition of its Intellectual Property (IP) Awareness Workshop from 22–23 October 2025 at the SABIC Plastics Application Development Center (SPADC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

This year’s workshop will focus on the increasingly critical topic of IP protection in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI). As AI technologies rapidly evolve and integrate into industrial processes, the need for robust IP frameworks to safeguard innovation has never been more urgent. The workshop will explore how companies in the petrochemical and chemical sectors can adapt their IP strategies to meet the challenges and opportunities presented by AI-driven innovation.

Participants can expect a dynamic program featuring:

  • Expert-led sessions on AI’s impact on patent systems and IP law.
  • Case studies illustrating successful IP management in AI-integrated environments.
  • Panel discussions on collaboration between industry, academia, and government to foster innovation while protecting proprietary technologies.
  • Workshops on negotiating technology licensing and collaboration agreements in the digital era.

The event will bring together regional and international IP professionals, legal experts, R&D leaders, and policy makers, offering a unique platform for knowledge exchange and strategic networking.

Held at SPADC, a hub for advanced materials research and development, the workshop underscores GPCA’s commitment to empowering the region’s transition from technology licensees to technology leaders.
